Having recently completed an $85m Series C fundraise, we are now entering a growth phase, where we are scaling our team as we take the Osler Origin product through regulatory activities, and towards market launch.

About the role:

We are looking for a Management Accountant who will oversee the day-to-day management accounting transactions, responsible for the ownership of the month end process, including the production of accurate and timely management accounts, statutory financial statements, payroll and tax reporting. 

This is a truly exciting and varied finance role, reporting to the Head of Finance and interacting extensively with the wider business.

Main responsibilities:

Management accounting and financial processes:

  • Oversee daily transactional processing routines completed by the accounts payable clerk and wider business.
  • Prepare high-quality, accurate and timely monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and commentary of performance against forecast, to deliver high quality information to the Head of Finance, Chief Financial Officer, the Board of Directors, and the shareholders.
  • Assist in the development of the ERP system and identify opportunities to innovate and streamline the work of the finance team.

Audit, tax, and financial reporting:

  • Manage the year end audit, tax, and financial reporting processes, ensuring that key deliverables are prepared on time.
  • Liaise with the external audit and tax teams to resolve queries effectively.
  • Prepare the UK GAAP financial statements, complete with supporting disclosure information.
  • Prepare corporate tax, R&D tax credit, VAT, PAYE, P11D and PSA computations (with guidance from the Head of Finance) and assist with the reporting of all relevant information to the HMRC.

Operational and commercial initiatives:

  • Assist with Business partnering activities, to help the development of short-term financial forecasts and discuss actual performance with business leaders, to support financial planning.
  • Support with ad-hoc financial analysis, including commercial planning, to aid decision making and long-term forecasts.
  • Support the Chief Financial Officer and Head of Finance with other operational processes, including financial controls and supply chain matters.
  • Identify opportunities to innovate and to implement agile, yet appropriately robust, financial, and operational processes and controls.

Essential:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
  • Strong financial and management accounting experience.
  • Technologically savvy and an advanced user of Excel.
  • Drive and determination to take the initiative and deliver on whatever comes your way.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in a fast paced and high growth environment.
  • Experience of SAP Business ByDesign.
