The Osler Origin will offer a wide portfolio of diagnostic tests and serve all major healthcare settings, globally.
The Osler Origin is powered by a portfolio of novel techniques and approaches for sample addition, microfluidic sample preparation, and electrochemical biosensing, and Osler was formed out of the University of Oxford in 2017, following decades of research.
Having recently completed an $85m Series C fundraise, we are now entering a growth phase, where we are scaling our team as we take the Osler Origin product through regulatory activities, and towards market launch.

About the role
This role is hands-on Android Software Engineer who wants to make a difference. With experience in a regulated environment (ideally ISO13485), developing safety critical software you're looking for a role with impact, in a fast-paced environment where you can get the job the done, and see the results.
Main responsibilities:
- Delivery of high-quality applications on the Android platform.
- Ability to quickly understand and contribute to an existing codebase.
- UI design and implementation, and an ability to work with UX designers.
- Use of Java language for Android, associated tools, and test frameworks.
- Delivery of detailed requirements and design documents.
- Integrating applications via APIs.
- Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to other team members including Developers, Test Engineers, Product Owners, and System Integration.
Skills & Experience
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in a technical subject or evidence of equivalent work experience. It is available either based at our offices in Oxford, or a hybrid remote working model with regular visits to the office.
- Familiarity with AOSP.
- Development of code to medical device, aerospace, or automotive standards.
- Computer security.
- Software development using an Agile methodology.
- Conducting detailed code reviews to identify issues in colleagues’ code.
- Creation of Cloud and IoT technologies.
- Android custom controls.
- Test Driven Development (TDD).
- Creation of Android Kiosk mode applications.
